Cineplex - Lost item in Winnipeg and no one answers even though my move ended less than an hour ago
I may have misplaced a black beret with 3 bows on it in theatre 11 showing Black Adam beginning at 7:00 CST, at Scotiabank theatre in Winnipeg and no one answered the phone even though it was before 10:30 and there was still showings in other theatres after mine had ended and yet regardless no one answered the phone when I called to let them know that I might have left an item in the theatre and it is out of my way to return to pick up said item.

Black Adam - pretty good movie. You may have had better luck if you had gone in person.

Horrible customer service and support

Had a horrible experience with some disruptive and sexist audience members, although I know this isnt staffs fault, there was no one to be found at the facility (I waited 20 some minutes at the front counter and concession), and none of the numbers for customer service/support/any works at this or any other cineplex location, and customer service has not responded to my request for contact through email or this website. I paid 17$ to see a movie I could have watched at home for free, and spent the half of it that I was there listening to men wolf whistle and yell nice t*ts! show me that ***

Refund request

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I'm writing to you today and how what should've been a treasured family memory, turned into the worst one I've experienced with my loved ones, my children. Every year it's a tradition, usually boxing day, however, since it was less expensive, we chose to do it on the Tuesday, December 27th at 2:30 PM to see the new Black Panther movie. It was also the first time I was going to see and spend time with my adult son since last Christmas. It was also the first time meeting his girlfriend. We arrived and as my daughter gave our pre ordered tickets on her phone to be scanned, she was told the heating was not working in the theatre, and we had forty five minutes to get a refund. We thought we could withstand it, as it was bearable with our coats on, and we didn't want to let the precious time with my son be shortened. It eventually got much colder, which made my son have to go and retrieve a much needed blanket, with his girlfriends parka from his pick up truck. I've never experienced such poor customer service and questioning why the Black Panther movie of all movies. Why wasn't technicians, a heating expert/repairman, brought in to fix the heater in the theatre. I feel like going to the media. I'm writing to you in hope I'll be at least given a refund for the discomfort I experienced with my loved ones in hopes you and your company will do the right thing to satisfy me as a customer. I hope not only myself, but others, never have to experience such discomfort at a movie, especially one made with minorities, such as from the African community at these times especially ever again, and I hope to hear back from you soon. Yours sincerely, Ms. Theresa Muir.

Most ridiculous thing I've read in a long time. You should have taken the refund offer.

Guest

First you left minor children unattended in a public place. You were in such a hurry to go 'do your own thing' that you didn't even bother to see where they went after you let them out of the car.

The theater will not be intimidated by your complaint but will instead ban you and your family for life for causing a nuisance.

It's not a babysitting service for naughty children. Shame on those kids and upon the parent.

Guest

You honestly think someone is going to read all of that ? You live in Canada and are intimidated by cold ? Move.

Cineplex - Pissed off parent
To whom it may concern: My daughter told me that she went to see smile tonight at the owen sound, ontario ciniplex just her and her friend no adults. I was unaware of what they were going to see but didn't realize anyone can go into any movie unquestioned. Both of the girls just turned 12 years old. Why is this happening? I see the movie is rated 14A on your website which is very weird because it says it's rated R which I will attach the proof of this. She came home in tears and scared as heck. This blows my mind that anybody can just walk into such movie without being questioned an age. Absolutely disgusted by this. I would like a total refund for both tickets purchased. I would like a prompt response on what is going to be done regarding this. If I do not hear anything within the next 48 hours I will be contacting my lawyer to pursue further actions. I have sent a separate email and with that email you will see this exact email with an attachment

Yikes, I am worried for what your daughter will hide from you in the future considering you are threatening to sue a multi-million dollar box company over some kids sneaking into the cinema. You do realize most of the people that work at Cineplex are only a couple years older than your kid, right? I hope this is a joke!

Guest

So your daughter and her friend snuck into the theater showing Smile, after having paid to see a different movie. Cinema employees are not babysitters. Do better instilling strong morals in your daughter.

Recent visit to New Minas NS Cineplex theatre

My wife and I attended "A Man called Otto" at 6:45 pm last evening at your New Minas NS location. From start to finish we could hear a loud thundering noise coming from the adjacent theatre. This was both annoying and disruptive. We could not concentrate on the movie we were trying to watch. I spoke to an employee but they said there was nothing they could do. I would like a refund of our 2 tickets or replacement tickets sent to me. Thank you Richard Gray

To make a point

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I went to most theaters in Edmonton to try them. They all failed. These theaters have few customers and I will tell you why. Its not covid or the economy which is the excuse you have probably been using. There were too many small movie theaters. Which means low budget films. Real theaters used to be big and impressive. These little theaters had sound systems that didn't even rival the system in my livingroom. Loud is not better. So loud that I had to leave because if it. Throw in a full booze bar of all things and you have ruined my evening. There's nothing like sharing a movie with people who were and are drinking. Those people drive you know. There's a time and place. To top it off the butter isn't even yellow. Give me a break. You have a monopoly here. The realmovie houses shut down. You used to be the cheaper option. Now you're it. It's sad to see drunks spending *** time with thier families. Enjoy your empty theaters.

Misleading advertising - bait-and-switch and poor service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Cineplex really does not value its customers. I used to spend about $500-700 a year at their locations. They have lost me as a customer over a coupon and misleading advertising. They ended an e-gift promo early without notice. The website advertised the promo indicating it was valid until June 30 but the customer service specialist said they stopped on June 21 saying they ran out of e-vouchers. This was the promo where you got a bag of popcorn and some coupons for spending $30 or more on a giftcard. I emailed them. I only use the free popcorn coupon ($7.50 value) and requested that they send me a voucher or some credit for that and they refused. Here is their response to my email to them, which was ignored: Hi Justin, That is not the point and I think you know that. Cineplex had a misleading promo, in my opinion. Im clearly a good customer as you can see by my history and I recently joined as a Cineclub member. Weve seen 9 movies since Jan 2022. Ive already bought and used this promo twice and used them in the last month. Ive also supported Cineplex as a regular customer for many years and this is the first real issue Ive had in a decade. Honestly, it would take a minor effort to correct this on your side. I like to support businesses that honour their commitments to customers and staff and take measures to correct minor issues like this as a result of poor advertising or unforeseen circumstances. Frankly, Im very disappointed in your apparent dismissive attitude to the actual issue. By just suggesting that I gift the card to another person (saying that it doesnt expire) shows me youve ignored my real issue and thats infuriating. If I treated my customers this way, I would have few left. Like I said, Ive been a great Cineplex customer for more than a decade and recently became a Cineclub member. However, Im prepared to cancel my membership and finding something else to do with my kids in our spare time. I can spend my hard earned money anywhere and I teach my kids and encourage my friends to support businesses that honour their customers and commitments. Clearly, this issue is a matter of principle for me now given your response. So, the real question for you (and Cineplex) now is whether you lose multiple customers over a bag of $7.49 popcorn? As Im sure you are aware, customers share good and bad experiences that help shape the shopping habits of those around them. Its a pretty good bet that I certainly do. Its comical and ironic that were spending all this time and money (as I assume you are getting paid more to respond to this issue) dealing with a matter that couldve been resolved in 5 minutes and minimal investment. The choice is yours; you can resolve the problem by satisfying your customer with a bag of popcorn or lose hundreds in revenue with lost customers.
